My name is Laura Travis and I live near St Neots in Cambridgeshire. I have an Honours Degree in Animal Behaviour and a Postgraduate Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from Southampton University. I am a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors and I attend regular CPD courses, seminars and webinars to keep my knowledge and practical skills up to date.
I have always worked with animals and believe that practical skills are as important as qualifications. I have been training dogs for more than 20 years. I gained valuable dog handling experience whilst working for a well known animal rescue centre, where I learned to assess the temperament of dogs coming in for rehoming and worked with problem dogs to overcome issues that prevented them from being rehomed. I have also worked as a Lecturer in Animal Care, Welfare and Behaviour and as an Animal Care Assessor.
I share my life with ex-caged hens, fish and my current rescue dog Pip. I also have two young children so I am well placed to advise on how to safely manage dogs and children in the home.
